All You Need Is Kill

Edge of Tomorrow

If you’ve seen the film, “Edge of Tomorrow” you need to read the book on which it is based. All You Need Is Kill is set in Japan, the main character is a Japanese man named Keiji Kiriya while Rita Vrataski is still an American special forces, The Full Metal Bitch.

There are a few differences between film and book but the same basic idea is there which I’ll refrain from talking about just in case you’ve never heard of or seen “Edge of Tomorrow”. The ending is completely different however and I’m not happy with it. Suddenly everything changed with only a one line explanation. If you don’t care about spoilers here’s a discussion about it. The book is also a little short, around 200 pages. The author could have used a few extra pages to build up to why the ending had to happen that way.

If you enjoyed the movie, you need to read the book. You can find multiple versions on amazon.com but the UK site unfortunately only has the paperback version.

Tie-Tanic

Disney bought LucasFilm did they? They’ll ruin Star Wars will they? Doubt that. Even fans consider the prequels a low point and I’ve never been a fan of the series myself so this Star Wars Titanic parody made me chuckle.

SMBC posted this on the facebook page: “Worrying that Disney will ruin Star Wars is like worrying that a second iceberg will dive down to hit the Titanic.”

Stargate: Ark Of Truth

Sunday 30th March at 9pm on Sky 2. If you’re a fan that’s all you need to know

Stargate: Ark Of Truth, the feature length episode which followed the last and final series of Stargate SG1 was released on DVD in the US at the start of March according to Barry’s post. I thought I’d have to wait until the region 2 DVD became available but Sky ponied up the dosh and I presume it was shown during the week on Sky 1? I’m still catching up on my regular programming through Sky+ and haven’t hit last week yet so I missed any trailers if there were any.

Sky+ is all set to record Ark Of Truth tomorrow night! I hope it’s better than the drivel they served for the final episode! Here’s a trailer to wet your appetite. I think it just might be a winner.
