In pictures: Flooding in Cornwall

The BBC has pictures here and here of the awful flooding in Boscastle, Cornwall on Monday. Google News has more. Thankfully nobody was hurt although over 100 people were air-lifted to safety. Looks like animals and pets had a lucky escape too!

“We thought the cat would have had no chance.

“She could not believe her eyes when we saw the exhausted cat, precariously balanced on the edge of a piece of furniture, piled of top of other furniture.

“He must have found an air pocket and is incredibly lucky to survive.

  1. Flooding is never a good thing, but I am glad rescue efforts went off without a hitch. In the United States that never happens, and even if it is just a flash flood people drown.
